A Casual (9-12 mph)
Relaxed/conversational pace; regroups often; no drops
B Moderate (11-13 mph) 
Social pace; regroups; no drops
C Intermediate (13-15 mph) 
Mostly moderate to brisk pace; experienced riders; regroups; no drops
D Fast (15-18 mph) 
Higher average on flats; brisk to rigorous pace; leader's option for regroup/no drop
E Very Fast (19+ mph) 
Higher average on flats; very strenuous pace; strong skills and experience; leader's option for regroup/no drop
